ERAU Team Dynamics Communication & Mutual Conversation Scenario Analysis Discussion

Please consider each of the three-team scenarios below:

• Scenario #1 – Karim, a member of a small team of four people working on a proposal for an international client, does not show up for team meetings. While he responds to an email communication from the team, and while he completes his assigned tasks on time, Karim lacks vital information to do his best work due to missing meetings.
• Scenario #2 – You are the team leader for a research project involving three other classmates. Unfortunately, two people on your team do not understand the purpose of the project and become frustrated with you as the leader of the team as you repeatedly attempt to redirect their efforts back on track.
• Scenario #3 – Mona and six other colleagues are assigned to work on an important project due at the end of the month. Unfortunately, during the very first team meeting, Mona shoots down the ideas of two teammates in a way that the team perceives as dismissive and rude. Team meetings now have a negative dynamic with many teammates not wanting to speak up and share their ideas.
